This Writer's Journey

  • This Writer’s Journey…Juliana

    ThisWritersJourney

Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour alone at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.

I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week (or so) I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!

I met Juliana online a while back, but more recently, I became her sister.

As in NA Alley Blog sister!

I have to say, Juliana is all kinds of sweet. Always encouraging. Excited about writing and the whole New Adult Movement. It’s absolutely contagious when she smiles, emails, tweets…you name it. I new right away I loved her when I read her profile and she mentioned BUFFY.

Yeah, I’m partial to Buffyas well, but you all already knew that 🙂

Write on, my Brazilian friend. Hope to meet IRL someday VERY soon!!

I met Katrina online (surprising, I know-LOL). I can’t even remember when anymore, but I’ll tell ya, she’s a joy. This rockin’ chick LOVES books. She’s always talking up what she’s reading and is so supportive of the authors she reads.

Readers are why I write, and Katrina is a prime example of a rock star reader!! I’ve been blessed to “meet” and get to know her. Though, it’s kinda weird when she’s always Facebooking about “tomorrow” before it happens….**wink**(she’s in Australia)

    Read on, my friend!

I met Amy Eye while scheduling a blog radio show chat with Journal Jabbers. That is an awesome radio show if you have time to check it out. These guys have so much fun. It was among some of the first radio shows I’d done, so I was nervous. But when I got online with these guys, I had so much fun the nerves just vaporized.

It might have something to do with Amy’s relaxed, supportive and encouraging attitude. She’s such a champion for authors and a beautiful person.

I’m really glad I got to “meet” you, Amy. Hope to see you in real life some day!

    Lynda Hilburn

I got to meet Lynda!! At the Romantic Times Convention earlier this year. I’d known her from online, but I was super excited to meet this awesome writing in the flesh! I didn’t have my book for her to sign, though, but as luck would have it, I won a signed copy at the Coffee Time Romance live chat!

    So, I’m a happy camper.

I initially met Lynda through one of my online RWA chapters. I think it might have been FF&P, but I can’t remember. Anyway, we forged a critiquing relationship and we’ve been working together for a while now.

I just love Lynda. She’s such an awesome writer to begin with. But her humor just makes me smile. She’s kind, supportive and very encouraging.

Because of all of that, I was really excited she agreed to read Violet Midnight for a cover quote. She’s so busy releasing all her books-and you MUST check out The Vampire Shrink-I was so happy that she squeezed in some time to read Emma and Jake’s story for a quote.

Thank you so much, Lynda. You’re an inspiration. Thanks for all your support! Hope to see you again very soon!!

    Cynthia Eden

I love Cynthia’s writing. Her stories are daring and exciting! Her writing is flawless, and she masterfully draws you into her character’s lives in a way that has you feeling each and every emotion they do.

That’s what inspired me to contact her for a cover quote for one of my novels.

She is one of the sweetest, most approachable people I’ve come across in this industry.

You could imagine my excitement when she’d agreed to read Violet Midnight for a quote. To have an author I enjoy reading read one of my novels was such an honor.

I’m so glad I got to cross paths with Cynthia Eden. She’s an inspiration. Be sure to check out her site, okay?

Carrie is another writer friend I met online. She’s such a sweet, encouraging person. Check out the cover of her soon to be released NEW ADULT novel. Isn’t it beautiful?

She’s a fellow New Adult author. We are few and far between, but we’re growing in numbers. Watch out for her, she’s a rising star, and I’m so thankful our paths crossed. Write on, my friend.
