Now…onto the movie.
Synopsis from IMDB
The warrior Thor (Hemsworth) is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard by his father Odin (Hopkins) for his arrogance and sent to Earth to live among humans. Falling in love with scientist Jane Foster (Portman) teaches Thor much-needed lessons, and his new-found strength comes into play as a villain from his homeland sends dark forces toward Earth.
I love action movies. I was very excited to go see this movie, yet I didn’t hold high hopes. Parts of it met my low expectations (wigs, fake accents, cliche phrases) but I was pleasantly surprised by the humor!
Yep, I said humor. I hadn’t expected that.
This movie didn’t knock me off my feet with its awesomeness, but I enjoyed the special effects and technical execution of the fight scenes.
Oh, and Chris Hemsworth is sort of cute…. *grin* But, jeez, the accent–which I think is supposed to be British–didn’t work really well.
Natalie Portman….she was okay. I’m prejudice, though. I’ve never really loved her. I know, she just won a spectacular award for Black Swan, but still….I didn’t connect with her at all.
So….I have to give it:
