Do I really need a phone?

I think I sent Lynn into a state of shock when I told her I wanted to host the blog this week.

Why? You ask…

Because I am known to repel technology. I must ask for some leeway, though, since I am from a place that does not have such things.

Well, if it did, I wouldn’t remember anyway. I lost all memories of my home realm when I stepped through the splice to come to earth.

I do know for certain one type of technology they do not have: CARS. See, sometimes I can get a feeling of familiarity about certain things, almost like the memory is about to come through, but it can’t. And, I despise automobiles. You call them cars or vans or SUVs (still have trouble remembering what SUV stands for), but they are not familiar to me in any way, shape, or form, so we must not have them wherever my home realm is.

I do, however, find the cell phone interesting. Such a tiny thing allows you to talk to one another from great distances. And texting. I cannot comprehend that yet, but the idea intrigues me.

I’m curious, though. Do you have a favorite technological gadget?

And be honest with me, do I really need a Hello Kitty cellular phone to survive in this realm?

  1. For some reason, the comment I posted last night isn’t here this morning.
I’m not a gadget kind of gal either Trinity. I still write thank you notes by hand and mail them at the Post Office! 🙂

  2. I could not live without my computer! Just about everything else I could do without, but not my compy. LOL

Lynn, I just can’t WAIT to read your books. Your characters and plots just sounds so cool! I hope and pray that they are in print soon! 😀

    • HI, Carman,
I’ll pass on the compliment to Lynn. Thank you. You are so sweet! We both hope Winged is in stores some day. Lynn’s agent is hard at work to make that happen. 🙂

    • Hi, Laura. You are right. They are cute. Still, I can’t figure out how to work them very well, though. The iPhone appears to be even worse!

  3. Hey, Trinity. Fun topic today. I couldn’t live without my phone. But I’m so excited to get the iPhone this month now that Verizon has it! You’ll learn, eventually. IT’s easy.

Okay. Not totally easy, but you have Jayden to help you. 😉

    • I did happen to see something on the television where a girl walked into a fountain full of water because she was typing on her phone. She could have done without her phone at that instant. Would have been drier for her. 🙂

  4. I hate phones. They are a necessary evil but I hate them. I do not always answer mine. My theory is that it is for MY convenicence, not someone else’s – I am not a slave to mine but I see some people act like Pavlov’s dogs and HAVE to answer as soon as it rings. I have to agree with Danica- MP3 player is the best.

    • You have just started texting? I can not figure that out, so that will have to wait for me. Glad you like it, though. I know Lynn loves texting 🙂

  5. I can barely remember what life was like before the cell phone and I mourn that. It just means people can find you no matter where you are because you have a phone on you. *sniff* And I really don’t like talking on the phone.

My favorite piece of technology? The MP3 player. So much more convenient than walkmans and radios. I adore my MP3 player!

    • Yes. I understand this. When I first saw my Jayden speaking into a small device I thought he’d gone mad.

MP3 player. Yes. I know what that is *now anyway* and like them very much. As long as the right music is streaming through the ear plugs.
