Life and Whatnot

Fairy Tales. . .

Did you get wrapped up in the royal wedding? How many of you got up early to watch it?

Come on, raise your hands.

Be proud.

Now, as a romance writer, people pretty much assumed I would get up and watch this fairy tale event.

I didn’t.

No reason, really.

It was the most anticipated event in…well, according to some, the twenty-first century.

It’s been fun to watch the process from afar. It made me remember my own personal fairy tale.

Marrying my hubby.

I didn’t have all the pomp and circumstance. But that’s okay. How we did it worked for us.

I wore my mom’s dress and the diamond in my ring was Charlie’s mom’s engagement diamond.

I’m all about sentiment.

My first kiss with my new hubby wasn’t in front of a bazillion people.

It was at the altar of a small church before a small group of close friends and family.

But it worked for us.

My personal fairy tale. One I get to live out daily because I found and married my prince charming fifteen years ago (well, in August it’ll be fifteen years.)

Maybe that’s why I write romance novels. I love love!

Just like I throw obstacles at my characters to complicate things, troubles find us in real life, too. But I do hold to one theory in my novels and in real life:

There’s nothing stronger than love.

Heck, I even tattooed it on my arm!

“And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.” 1 Corinthians 13:13

I had to download this song for the title alone–> Faith, Hope, & Love by Beckah Shae

Call me a sap.

Call me naive.

That’s okay. I’ve been called worse.

I blame all the wedding coverage for putting me in this sappy mood *wink*

I love LOVE too! The royal wedding was a fairy tale come true and I believe we can all have and deserve one. Maybe that’s why I love reading blog posts like this and am all about romance! Speaking of love and romance, I’m thinking about joining a new online community called yachtdates. My fairy tale includes sailing off into the sunset and I think this might be the way to meet MY Prince Charming! If anyone is interested (I know you’re spoken for Lynn!) they can check out their FaceBook page http://sym.fm/gIR4lF

Congrats on 15 years (almost), Lynn! Love the pics! The morning of the wedding, I got up for work and turned on the t.v. to get the weather and traffic report, as I always do. I hadn’t planned on watching any of the wedding, but there was no news! It was all wedding coverage. I just happened to turn it on right when they were taking their vows. I did stop for a moment and watch but then changed to The Weather Channel. 🙂

Watched the wedding via DVR so I could fast fwd the boring parts – mainly some of the commentary! I love love, too! I have a running list of my all-time fave romantic movies. 🙂 Congrats on 15 yrs! My Daniel and I will have 16 under our belts in a little over two weeks. And I agree that it’s nothing about sappy – I’m glad that LOVE still touches our hearts! Happy Tuesday!

I didn’t watch the wedding either. In real or recorded time.
And Lynn there’s nothing about being sappy. Ever time I hear the song that was my wifes and mine first dance song I get misty eyed.

I didn’t watch the wedding, but it is fun to think of it as a fairy tale.

I’m glad your wedding was what you wanted and that your marriage is still going strong. 😉

I didn’t watch the wedding either. Oh, sure, I thought it was sweet and pretty (what I saw of it), but weddings are private in my mind. I understand their wedding was more than a little different because he’s a royal, but still, I’m sure they would’ve liked something more intimate and less insane. I know I would.

Congrats on 15 years, Lynn! And here’s to many more 🙂

It’s funny, but these are actually the first pictures I’ve seen of the royal wedding. I didn’t read anything about it or look at any of the news stories. Not exactly my cup of tea, LOL.

Your wedding pics are beautiful, Lynn. Congrats on your many years together. May you have many more. 🙂
