FRIDAY FUNNIES

Friday Funnies is a chance to share your wild and crazy stories. Whether it’s a personal story or just something that strikes you as funny.Let’s laugh and have some fun, but keep it clean, cuz I’m a watchin’ **wink wink**

I’ll start us out. It’s a funny story about my husband Charlie. He said I could share it.

Quite a few years ago, he was out in Colorado for a clinical internship while finishing up his graduate degree in Physical Therapy. His grandma, brother, and sister-in-law lived out there, so he spent a lot of time with them.

Well…..one day, he and his brother, Tim, were mountain biking. They’d been gone most of the day and were exhausted. So, Charlie dropped off his brother and made the trek back up north to Greeley where he was staying with Grandma.

Relieved to finally be home, he searches for the garage door opener, clicks it, and patiently waits for the door to open. He pulls forward into the garage and suddenly and loud noise rattles his eardrums and his car shakes like there’s an earthquake.

Now, what the heck is that?

As bike parts start raining down onto his windshield, he remembers that he still had his bike on the roof of his car.

Panicked, he slams the car in reverse and as he backs out, the bike topples down onto the hood of the car– well at least the fork does. Garage door panels crumble to the ground…..Oh, it was ugly.

Sure, we can laugh about it now, but back then on a fixed income (student loans) it was an expensive OOOOPS.

I have a funny story on my blog today, but I have lots of anecdotes to share because I lead a weird life.

Sooooo…here’s another: Once when preparing to attend Thanksgiving dinner at my parents’ house, my husband called my mother and asked if she needed us to stop by the store to get anything before we came over. She told my hubby she needed a gallon of milk, and she appreciated the offer.

Well, my husband doesn’t like to talk on the phone a whole lot. When he does, it’s usually with me and our conversations end with the usual affections.

Imagine his embarrassment when he finished the conversation only to hear me say: “Sweetheart, why did you just tell my mother that you loved her?”
