Inspiration
I usually do a “This Writer’s Journey” post here, but I decided to take a break from that today.
No profound reason or anything, just…because.
Instead, I wanted to share a bit of inspiration with you. We all have people in our lives who inspire us, and sometimes they do something that just makes you sit back and say, “Holy cow, I’m super lucky.”
One day I sat at my laptop and opened up the cover to start up some writing. And this is what I found:

That’s from my sweet hubby. Sometimes we just need a little pick-me-up, don’t we?
What’s something inspiring that’s happened to you this week? You might have just the story someone else needs to see today!

Awww!!! What a sweetie!!! 🙂
As I get closer to the release of my first book and my nerves ramp up, my hubby inspires me with his unwavering belief in me and my book. No matter how much I might be quaking in my shoes, he’s a rock of faith…
So great to have a hand to hold on this bumpy journey… Shew! 🙂

That is lovely!
It didn’t happen this week, but a few weeks ago I sent an email to Robin Hobb, whose Farseer Trilogy I had just read for the first time, and expressed how impressed I was with her writing, how much I loved the books and how they had inspired me to persevere with my own fantasy novel ambitions. A few days later I received an unexpected email reply, which among other things said:
“Good luck with your fantasy novel. I will tell you the only trick I know. Persevere. Push those keys down every day. The only way that anyone writes anything is one key stroke at a time. So when it is dark outside and you are alone with your little lamplight shining out the window, think of all the writers all over the world who are doing the same thing, and keep at it.”
I cannot express how happy I was to get that email, and how it inspired me to just do as she says and keep writing!
