MUSICAL MONDAYS–80s week
Musical Mondays is about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

Ok, time to change things up a bit. And what’s more fun that talkin’ 80’s musics…so welcome to the 80’s week version of Musical Mondays.
Here’s a fun one. You remember the 1984 movie Breakin‘? Oh my gosh. That movie cracked me up. I mean, the music was fun, for a 1980’s movie, but oh, the acting.
Remember this song? There’s No Stoppin’ Love, by Ollie and Jerry

Oh, and I found a clip from the movie on You Tube.

So, the song doesn’t have any deeper meaning or anything to me. It’s just a good, crack-me-up, fun-lovin’ song.

You have any like those??

Anything by Culture Club. I loved me some Boy George.

I loved Breakin’ – wore fingerless gloves and parachute pants for a while after that! And Top Gun?! Yeah Danger Zone and-You take my Breath Away by Berlin.
For me it was the “hair bands” Cinderella, Def Leppard, Quiet Riot, Motley Crue, Great White. . . okay, I’ll stop there 🙂 Love the 80’s!

Yep, “Highway to the Danger Zone” is in Top Gun, which reminds me of another great tune: “Take My Breath Away” by Berlin.
Great Movie. Great Soundtrack.

Eighties girl here, too. Totally.
Meaningless, fun song? “Word Up.” My best friend and I were such dorks that we had little choreographed moves we’d do when we heard it. …Now it’s stuck in my head. I have to go download it on Zune!

OMGoodness! I’m an 80’s girl through and through! I could go on and on about 80’s music, but the first song that came to mind and one of my all-time favorites is Total Eclipse of the Heart. Love it! I’ll be coming up on my 200th post soon and plan to do a list of 100 of my favorite songs to celebrate. You’ll have to check it out!

“I feel the need…the need for speed.” Isn’t that song, Highway to the Danger Zone in Top Gun??? Oh, I love that song.

Call me crazy, but I love eighties music! I have a plethora of eighties tunes on my I-pod right now.
My entry for meaningless fun song? How ’bout “Highway to the Danger Zone” by Kenny Loggins? Come on, who doesn’t get the urge to hijack an F-14 Tomcat whenever they hear that song? I know I do.

Meaningless fun song – “Let’s Hear It for the Boy!”
There are so many it’s hard to choose a favorite.

Oh, the 80s. Yikes. How I ended up writing an entire novel set in that decade is beyond me!
My favorite fun-lovin’ song that has absolutely no meaning for me just missed the 1980s. It’s “Love Shack” by the B-52s. It drives my husband crazy!
