Musical Mondays is about our favorite music. What’s your favorite song? If you’re a writer, does it inspire your creativity? Cure writer’s block? If you’re not a writer, what do your favorite songs do for you?

Today I chose Jeremy Camp‘s, Lay Down My Pride. If you haven’t read his story, please CLICK HERE.  It’s amazing.  He lost his first wife to cancer just MONTHS after their wedding! His faith never faltered.

The words that hit home for me are:

I lay down my pride
My desires my demise
I’m ready now to see it your way
I’m done I’m thru ignoring you now it’s true
I’m kneeling at the cross of your grace
Lay down my pride

This song, as are most of his, is such an inspiration to me. A reminder to step aside of what I want or think I need so I can see HIS way. Afterall, that’s what it’s all about, right?

I hope you enjoy the song too.

Billy–Yeah, when I heard his story about his wife, I ’bout died. Then, his music…he’s really amazing.

I’ve said it before, but it’s worth saying again. Jeremy Camp is amazing.

Thriving Ivory’s publicist just sent me its new CD in the mail. I love their song “Angels on the Moon” (it’s this season’s theme song to VH-1’s Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew). I love the song, but I’m still checking out the rest of the CD.

I am a HUGE fan of Jeremy Camp. His lyrics always hit home for me and I love his story. What a great testimony.

  5. Love Jeremy Camp! Right now, the song that has me rockin’ is “I Am Counting on God” by Desperation Band. Also, My Deliverer is Coming, which is a great song for Advent.
