One step at a time…
Might not look like much to you, but this trailhead is a ways from my house.
Normally I wouldn’t consider less than half a mile a “ways” but these days…it sure is.
You might have seen some posts on Facebook or Twitter about my having had surgery recently.
I had stage four endometriosis and needed to have that taken care of. That meant a big surgery. It’s not like me to “stay down” long, I mean, picked Rush as my last name for a reason.
Well, turns out I’ll be down a bit longer than I’d thought. Once they opened me up, they found the endometriosis all over the place. They had to bring in another surgeon to help take care of everything.
It all turned out well and just under three weeks after surgery, I’ve made it to this trail head. Quite a feat these days, but it’s a step forward.
Literally.
Despite being laid up I still got to enjoy my Valentine’s Day. My sweetie gave me this cute bear and candy. My dear friends have been bringing us meals to help lighten the load around the house, and I can’t thank them enough.
Another big thanks to all the emails and tweets I’ve been getting from you guys. They make me smile, and that just makes the days brighter. You guys rock!

You’re right! It’s not time to give up, but press forward. With caution of course, but you probably know your limits.

The with caution part is what’s difficult for me. I’m like, “Hey, I want to go running!” LOL.
