Treat people how you’d like to be treated. No matter who the person is or what the situation is.
It’s that simple.
I saw an example of this yesterday while at the shopping store.
Every once in a while, I end up in a line that is super slow for whatever reason. When faced with those times, I take it as a sign that I’m needing to slow down, show someone some love/patience.
And yesterday was one of those times.
I was shopping and the person running the register was obviously new. And very young.
For whatever reason, he had to call a manger over a couple times, which kind of slowed things down.
Behind me, two guys came and went, griping pretty loudly about the pace of the line.
This kid was probably in his first job, learning about commitment, structure, and work ethic, and I was sad to see him treated so poorly.
Come on, people, just be nice. Be patient. Be encouraging.
