Inspiration is everywhere, you just need to be receptive.
The other day I was out running and two ideas for new scenes in a book I’m writing popped into my head from out of nowhere. It seemed so random because the scenes I thought of didn’t have anything to do with what I was seeing or where I was.
But really it’s not random. The fact that I was doing something relaxing and something I enjoy really opens up my mind.
I’m out there for miles, so there’s time to zone out. Let the stressors of life fade into the background. And opens things up so creativity can flow.
I truly believe it’s like that for everyone. Whether it’s going for a walk, crocheting, riding a bike or zoning out to some music, disconnecting can relax you and let your mind wander. A solution for a life problem/stressor might present itself. Or inspiration on how to help a friend.
What do you guys do to decompress?
