    I’m going country today!

It’s not my favorite kind of music, but Tim McGraw has a few songs I like. He can get pretty twangy, yes, but boy, this song, Live Like You Were Dying, really rocked my world. I’d heard the song before and even have put it up here once, I think. But, for some reason, while I was looking through songs for Musical Monday, this one clicked with me.

The following lyrics really stuck out:

    Loved Deeper

    Spoke Sweeter

    Gave forgiveness I been denying

Someday I hope you get the chanceto live like you were dying

    Do you like Tim McGraw?

He seems to be a class act –hey wasn’t I just saying that about last week’s Musical Monday pick (Taylor Swift)?

What is it about those country stars?

Hi. Adrean here. Lynn writes about me and Lexi in The Mark of the Heir.

I’m glad to be here, but I think I’d rather be hopping around the globe like Lynn. She checked in with us all over the weekend and said she’s having a blast over in England. Paris is the next stop and she’s so excited.

I’m not much into country music, either, but ever since my stint in juvie, I’ve kinda been into it. The guards pretty much controlled everything, including what music could be played at what time.

I guess one of the guards had a thing for country….You’d think I’d hate it since I heard it mostly while in jail.

The first year out I hated it, but then I came around a bit.And this Lady Antebellum group is actually pretty good.

So, here you go. Enjoy Stars Tonight . . . and don’t forget to get your contest entry in. Click here for details.

Have you seen the movie The Blind Side?

Tim McGraw is in that movie, and I like Tim McGraw, so I found out this song was in the movie and had to put it on Musical Monday.

Now, I haven’t seen the movie, but hopefully I will soon, because I’ve heard it’s fantastic.

I’m not a big country music fan, but there are a few songs out there I like and this is one of them.

    What do you think?

timmcgraw2You just never know what type of music you’ll find in the spotlight on Musical Mondays here on the Light of Truth blog, huh? **smile**

    I guess that’s the idea.

Maybe we’ll even feature Eminem some day…… But today’s not that day.

Instead, I’m posting Country Music. Yep, I’m a closet county music lover…Ok, not lover, but, I don’t mind it. And anything Tim McGraw does is pretty much awesome. This song’s amazing. I hope you take time to see the video I’ve linked.

    You’ll be impacted, I promise.

Now typically you won’t find country music on my I-Pod, but I’ve known about this song for a while and thought it was time to talk it up. It has a great message. I almost posted all the lyrics here, because it was hard to choose which ones affected me the most. But, I chose the following. These lyrics threw me for a loop. It’s hauntingly true.

He said “I was finally the husband,
That most the time I wasn’t.
And I became a friend a friend would like to have.
And all of a sudden going fishing,
    Wasn’t such an imposition,
And I went three times that year I lost my Dad.
Well, I finally read the Good Book,
And I took a good long hard look,
At what I’d do if I could do it all again,
    And then:

I went sky diving, I went rocky mountain climbing,
I went two point seven seconds on a bull named Fumanchu.
And I loved deeper and I spoke sweeter,
And I gave forgiveness I’d been denying.
And he said: “Some day, I hope you get the chance,
“To live like you were dying.”
