• Emma’s Playlist Grows….

    Found another song for the Violet Midnight playlist!!

    Have you guys heard of Ellie Coulding?

    I’m sure I’m the only one who hasn’t at this point, considering this video has had over 19 million reviews. **LOL**

    She fits this story pretty well, even Emma to a point! After Emma reads this post, we’ll see if she agrees! **wink**

    So, what new music are you listening to these days? You never know, I might go download some new music from your suggestions. Heck, it could make a novel playlist.

    You just never know.

  • Four Word Interview–Gregor Caine

    I’ve got a fun one for you today! Gregor Caine from Christine Ashworth’s book, Blood Dreams. Gregor’s story is awesome. You’ve got to check this out.

    Emma Martin: Favorite time of day….

    Gregor Caine: Demon-killing time.

    ~~~
    EM: Fondest childhood memory is . . .
    GC: Running faster than Justin.
    ~~~

    EM: Favorite food to eat . . .

    Pizza. Broccoli. Cherry pie.

    ~~~
    EM: If granted one wish. . .
    GC: No Chaos Plane Portals.
    ~~~

    Broccoli? Really? Now, I don’t eat anymore since I became a Hunter…but back when I DID eat, I remember HATING broccoli. *LOL*

    It’s December, and Los Angeles is in the grip of a serial killer – or so Gregor Caine would like to believe. But the moon grows fat as it builds toward the Winter Solstice and an eclipse. An old woman searching for a friend gone missing believes danger is coming, and the Blood Dreams that keep interrupting Gregor’s sleep portend a swarm of demonic activity.

    After summer’s setback, Kendall Sorbis is finally getting started on his Revenge Life List.

    First up, open a portal to the Chaos Plane. Second, invite the Caines to come and play….

  • #Ragbrai Starts Today….

    And so the ride starts….

    Today’s the day Lynn starts her 350-mile bike ride across Iowa. They’re ending the ride in Cedar Rapids Iowa a bit shy of the entire ride because of time constraints with work, but still, 350 miles.

    And camping….

    Lynn doesn’t like camping. Now me, I don’t mind it. Probably because I don’t feel the elements, don’t need to eat or sleep or use the restrooms. Not to mention, I can see *super* well at night thanks to my violet eyes.

    Lynn, not so much. But I’m sure she’ll do fine.

    How ’bout you? Do you camp? What’s your favorite part of it? Least favorite?

  • I’m back…

    Hey everyone. Emma Martin here!

    I’m glad to be hijacking the blog again since Lynn’s off gallivanting across Iowa. Though, you have to admit, riding 350 miles in five days is pretty epic. Not to mention she her hubby raised nearly $3,000 for cancer!

    So, while she’s out there with no computer or anything, enjoying the humidity of Iowa, let’s see what kind of trouble I can cause here on the blog. And it might be a lot since the Vamps have been eerily quiet lately.

    But enough about Vamps

    First off, a giveaway. These are always a ton of fun. So, here goes….

  • Tomorrow . . . .

    We leave tomorrow for Ragbrai!!!

    I’m a bundle of excitement and nerves all rolled up into HOLY COW I’m going to bike across Iowa.

    I’m not sure what kind of internet access I’ll have, so you can follow Ragbrai on Facebook. I’m sure they’ll be posting updates.

    <–Can you believe that picture? All those people. Holy cow.

    You might know a little about our story with Ragbrai, but I’ll share it here again.

    We’re riding for: Lynn Boeyink (My mother in law) who passed away in October (2011) from cancer. Mary B–the mother of my hubby’s dear friend–who died in Summer of 2011 from cancer. Penny M–my step-mom who is, right now, fighting cancer. She starts her third treatment on Monday! She’s fighting hard. Her spirits are up. Sandy R–she’s undergoing chemo right now as well.

    Cancer has probably hit close to you throughout your lifetime, so you know what we’re going through.

    We wanted to do something about it, so we started Arizona Pain Train. We’ve raised nearly $3,000 so far. Thank you so much for your support.

    And as of July 1st–a percentage of my proceeds from ALL of my books will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

    Another person I’m riding for is Joshua K. He suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of crashing while bike riding.

    Lots of things on my heart during this ride, and I’m honored to be out there several hours a day sifting through thoughts, praying on things, and enjoying the scenery with my sweet hubby!

    ***I hear Emma is taking over my blog while I’m gone–and she might have a big giveaway happening as well!***

    See you next week.
