• Into The Woods…

Into the woodsSo, who’s seen INTO THE WOODS?

When it first came out, I wasn’t exactly excited to see it. And had I known it was a musical…for SURE I wouldn’t have seen it.

But a few friends mentioned they wanted to see it, so I figured I’d risk it to hang out with some friends.

The company was WAY better than the movie, put it that way.

Overall, I think I didn’t like it because I don’t like musicals. So that was a big part of it. The acting was fine, singing fine, special effects fine…. But I didn’t like the humor, nor where they took the “Happily Ever After.” In my mind, it wasn’t a happily ever after, and I didn’t like how they changed up the fairy tales.

But, I’m a romantic. So…to each his own.

So tell me, what’d YOU think of the movie?

  • Captain America

Captain_America_1400_x_2100_USA_AppleOver New Years, I watched the first Captain America again. I just loved the second one, but needed a refresher. Boy, did I forget how AWESOME Captain America was.

Mostly what stuck out to me is the romance with him and Agent Carter (and yes, I’m stoked to watch that show on TV–she kicks BUTT!) It was so intense, yet in the movie, they only shared one very innocent kiss.

Yet, I felt the love. The devotion. The respect. Amazing how that can happen with just one kiss, a few intense looks.

Now that’s romance, in my book! 🙂

What movies are you watching these days?

  • Pitch Perfect 2…

Any PITCH PERFECT fans out there??
Surprisingly, I’m one. Yeah, I was a little surprised myself.

And now… PITCH PERFECT 2? ***sweet***

What are you guys thinking? Yay or Nay?

  • Terminator Genisys

Okay, guys. What do you think of this new Terminatorinstallment??

While I’m a HUGE fan of the Terminator movies (mostly #2) I’m a little nervous about this one. Action looks good. Lots of adventure. But…they’re messing with a classic by redoing it, I’m worried…

    What do you guys think?

  • Maze Runner Review

    Maze Runner TheatreMaze Runner…Hmmm.

When it first came out, I was like, “Maybe.” Had it not been for my good friend, Courtney, I wouldn’t have gone.

Having said that…I’m kinda glad I went.

    First.

    Here’s the synopsis from IMDB:

Maze RunnerThomas is deposited in a community of boys after his memory is erased, soon learning they’re all trapped in a maze that will require him to join forces with fellow “runners” for a shot at escape.

Okay, I have to say, THOMAS rocked this character. The whole concept was really awesome. I haven’t read the book or anything, and I hear that the movie didn’t quite live up to the book.

Then again, when DOES a movie do that, right?

Each of the characters were pretty interesting for the most part. And a couple pretty predictable/stereotypical, which was a bummer, but it didn’t overshadow the movie enough for me to dislike it.

I gave it a 7/10 on IMDB–but I probably won’t be reading the books. Overall, this isn’t quite my genre, but I wish all the best for the movie and books.

What’d you guys think of this movie?

    Sincerely,

  • Gone Girl

    Gone GirlThe blurb from IMBD:

With his wife’s disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circus, a man sees the spotlight turned on him when it’s suspected that he may not be innocent.

    ~~My Take~~

    **whew** Where to start…

First…did you guys like it? What’d you like about it?

Okay, so, I might get nailed here, but that’s okay. Movies, like books, are very subjective. Heck, I absolutely loved Dracula Untold and it’s got some seriously low ratings over at IMDB. But, differing opinionsiswhat makes the world go ’round, isn’t it?

    So…here goes: I didn’t like Gone Girl.

**ducks, dodging wads of paper getting thrown at me**

There were a few things I liked, so let’s start with that…

The mystery part. WOW, totally creative and very gripping.

The acting-nicely done. That girl really nailed CRAZY, didn’t she? As in…HOLY CRAZY BATMAN! I could only DREAM of writinga character that psychotic.

But, the parts I didn’t like over-shadowed what I did. Mainly the sex. Yes…I’m a romance writer, you’re probably thinking… HUH? What do you mean you didn’t like the sex?

Well, when I’m reading a book that has love scenes in them…I think my brain tamps them down or something. But when it’s BAM in my face on a huge screen with 200 strangers—yikes. It was way too intense for me. Too graphic. The story/plotwould have been so much more impactful without all the graphic sex. But, that’s me.

So, I’ll ask again. What’d you like? What’d you dislike? Would you buy the movie when it comes out on DVD? That’s how I usually gauge a movie and this one…so not one I would buy.
