THEN AND NOW THURSDAYS
Commericals. Oh, how they’ve changed over the years.
Check this out.
THEN:

AND NOW:
This was the 2009 SuperBowl ad.

Usually it’s about the technology difference. Yeah, that’s there in these too, but something else caught my attention as well.
It wasn’t so much about the hype, or loud music, or big stars promoting their product. It focused more on what this giant in the cereal industry is doing to better our country. That’s grrrrreat, indeed!

What’d you think?

Rosslyn and Lynn — I never even thought about it that way. That name is very Harry Potteresque.

Kat–I sure didn’t know that! Wow…you’re in a famous town! 🙂
Rosslyn–Yeah, I know, right? Thurl Ravenscroft….maybe a various of the next character in a book? LOL

Thurl Ravenscroft is a great name. It sounds like a Viking wandered into the Harry Potter series.

I bet you didn’t know . . .the name of the man who did the voice of Tony the Tiger is Thurl Ravenscroft. He’s from my hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska.
YAY!
He died in 2005 at the age of 91.
He did several cartoon voices in “Cinderella,’’ “The Jungle Book,’’ “Mary Poppins,’’ “Alice in Wonderland,’’ and “Lady and the Tramp.’’
We have a couple of roundabouts in Norfolk, and me and a friend always thought they needed to put a statue of Tony the Tiger in the center of one and a statue of Johnny Carson (another Norfolk boy) in another.
