#TheRunningWriter QOTD

Make all the mistakes.

*****

I’ll let you in on a little secret.

I’m not perfect.

Want to know another secret? Neither are you. 😀

Might as well embrace it, right? We’re going to make mistakes. It’s inevitable.

Don’t fight it. Don’t try to be perfect. Don’t expect perfection from people around you. Because when you or they make mistakes it just makes them that much more painful.

Now, this insight isn’t a license to go out and make mistakes like crazy without any remorse. But if you come to terms with the fact that you’re flawed and the people around you are, too, there’s less stress on you to do everything single thing perfectly.

Or maybe you made some major-super whopper-mistakes early on in life that haunt your every action and thought in the present.

Makes you feel like you have to be super duper perfect now to make up for things of the past.

Want to know another secret? You will still make mistakes. Don’t put that pressure on yourself. It’ll just set up for monster-sized failure.

We have all made mistakes in the past. They aren’t going to disappear and we may pay the consequences for a bit. But if you have to look back on the mistakes, do it with a learning point of view so you don’t repeat them. Not to beat yourself up.

And no matter how horrible the mistakes were that you made…they made you who you are now. You survived them. Now learn from them, pass on your knowledge, and move on.

You are worth it. You are strong. You are loved.
