Throwback Thursday – EtchASketch
Have you ever sat and reminisced about what was popular when you were a kid? Well…. Throwback Thursdays is right up your alley.
Okay, so did you have one of these?
I sure did. Loved it.
Clearly I wasn’t as talented as Elf though…remember? In that movie he did some fantastic art with those things.
LOL.
They were pretty cool. Actually invented in the 50s, did you know that? But they didn’t debut until the mid 80s.
Ahhh . . . memory lane.

Kat–I didn’t know about those transparency type things. LOL. That would have helped a little. 🙂

I had an Etch-A-Sketch, but I didn’t know until I was married that there were “games” you could buy for them.
After my husband’s mom went through her closets, she sent home a bunch of his toys from his youth. We found these transparency-type cards with mazes and race tracks and such on them. Apparently, you were supposed to lay the transparency over the EAS screen and try to make it through the maze or stay within the boundaries of the race track.
I loved the Etch a Sketch, but if I’d have had those, it would have been so much cooler.

I haven’t thought about those things in years. Time sure flies by. Thanks for the memory!

I never had one of my own, but everytime I came across one, I couldn’t put it down:)

Oh man, I loved my EtchASketch. Played with it constantly. My son has one now, and I think I play with it more than he does. Still can’t draw anything, though!
