Throwback Thursdays

Cabbage Patch Kids

Have you ever sat and reminisced about what was popular when you were a kid? Well…. Throwback Thursdays is right up your alley.

Did you have a Cabbage Patch kid doll?

Click Here for the “legend” of the dolls. I’d never heard of this legend, but then again, I don’t think I had one of these dolls.

I do remember hearing about how parents stood in line for hours, even battled other parents to get their hands on one of the dolls. Craziness I tell ya.

***So, fess up, did you have one?***

Kat–Whoa, you remember their names? Jeepers.
KM–You went to the place they were born? Gosh, I didn’t know you could. But then again, I grew up with tanka trunks and GI Joe figures (Yep, tom boy…. . . )
Tammy–I think I have one doll from when I was a kid. One my grams made . . . that’s about it. That’s cool you still have yours.

I definitely had one! I even went to the place where they’re “born.” It’s actually sort of creepy. The baby’s heads come out of cabbage heads, and a “nurse” pulls them out. The one that was “born” while I was there was actually named after me. True story. lol

I had three: Joy Darcy, Martin John and Claire Polly. I’m amazed that I can remember their names.

I still have all three of them, but the boy (he was bald) is in pretty sad shape. He’s missing an arm. 🙁
