Winged

  • I’m seeing angels…

    I’m a sucker for angels.

    Well, mostly the wings. There’s just something about wings. What is it? Maybe the freedom they give, or I would imagine they give.

    I’ve penned a few novels featuring winged characters, and I loved writing them. One of my faves is Trinity from WINGED. That book isn’t contracted for publication or anything, but I sure had fun writing her.

    Winged just went through a beta read so I’ve got some rewriting to do to strengthen the story, but I’m stoked to get back into her story! And even if Trinity never sees the light of publication, that’s okay…I’m glad I wrote her story (and her sequel–CLIPPED.)

    One of my other faves with wings is from Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld Series. She has this character Aeron, and the book’s called The Darkest Passion. Gena’s a great writer, and I love how she captured Aeron. Such passion and beauty and wrath all rolled up into an amazing story.

    For movies. . . .even though Legion so was NOT a good movie in my opinion, I loved how they showed the wings. It was what convinced me to watch the movie to tell you the truth.

    Sucker, I know.

    Do you have any favorite winged characters? Either from books or movies?

  • This Character’s Journey . . .

    Lynn has been running this series called This Writer’s Journey on Fridays for some time now. Since I’m one of her characters, I’ve decided to change it for this post to, This Character’s Journey.

    It’s an interesting journey, indeed, and Lynn has written two books about it. I’ve given her much material to write about, though, considering I slid into this realm to escape someone looking to do me harm after marrying me.

    Not to mention I arrived to earth with no memory of who-or what-I was and completely blind.

    As if that wasn’t enough, I sprouted wings at the most inopportune time. I can’t tell you how that happened because I wouldn’t want to spoil things should this book get published one day.

    But one thing I’ve enjoyed about this journey is my Jayden.

    He found me wondering the streets, blind and with no memory. Out of the goodness of his heart, he took me in. By doing so, he invited a whole set of problems he never could have imagined. Or me for that matter.

    It is nice to know there are still good people in the world today willing to take a risk to help someone. So, thank you, Jayden, for stepping up and helping a complete stranger.

    Who has stepped along side of you when you were at your weakest and lifted you up?

  • Throwback Thursday–Fruit Roll-ups

    Normally Lynn does something called Throwback Thursday today. First, I had to have Jayden explain this to me. I even went back and reviewed some older posts.

    Interesting concept.

    Since I have no memory prior to the few days I’ve been on earth, I asked Jayden what food he enjoyed when he was younger. He smiled and said, “Of course it’d be about food, right?”

    True. Evidently it’s strange how much I eat. But, when you have wings and are flying around, it burns much energy!

    Back to the post. . .

    Have you guys heard of Fruit Roll-ups?

    I’d never (surprising, I know) so I asked him to take me to get this thing called a Fruit Roll-up.

    He brought me a box of strawberry, and we had a little Fruit Roll-up party at his loft. He even sketched a few pictures of me eating them.

    He is an artist, did I mentioned that?

    I very much enjoyed them. Super sweet and tangy at first, but I loved how they melted on my tongue.

    Have you tried Fruit Roll-ups before? Which is your favorite?

  • Debate This . . . Domino’s vs Pizza Hut

    Debate This is all about voicing your opinion on really important things, such as Pepsi Vs. Coke, Nike Vs. Converse, and Twinkies Vs. Ho-Hos. **smile** Okay, so maybe they’re not super important, but they’re at least fun things to jaw about.

    So….Debate this:

    Domino’s vs Pizza Hut

    My Jayden laughed at me the first time I tasted pizza. Probably because I ate an entire large by myself, considering I’m barely four foot six and only sixty-five pounds.

    Flying burns many calories. Much food is needed to refuel. But since there are no people on earth with wings, I could see how that surprised him. I didn’t even know I had wings at the time since I’d lost all my memories on my trip to Earth,but that is a post for another day.

    Today we are debating pizza.

    I have tried both brands and know which one I prefer and why.

    But how about you?

    Please let me know and be sure to cast your vote. I will return and give you the results.

  • A contest. . .

    Hello everyone. This is Trinity.

    I surprised Lynn when I told her I wanted to be on her blog this week. I think her exact words were, “But you repel technology, Trin.”

    That’s okay, I have my Jayden helping me.

    I’m sneaking in a Sunday post to tell you about a little contest I’m going to run on Lynn’s blog this coming week.

    The prize: $25.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

    I’ve been to one of those stores once. They are a little confining for my taste, but then again, I rather enjoy the wide open spaces so I can spread my wings and take to the skies.

    But I will save that for another post. Back to the contest.

    It’s easy to enter. All you have to do is leave comments . . .

    Starting tomorrow, there will be instructions at the end of each post on where you need to comment to be entered in the drawing. It will vary a bit each day, so be sure to read the entire post. I may even sneak in some opportunities for you to get extra entries.

    But you will have to stay tuned to find out.

    ~~~
    Let’s get all the rules out of the way now so I don’t have to keep posting them, okay?
    1. One entry per person unless otherwise stated in the post.
    2. Winner must reside in the US.
    3. All the entries will be tallied up on Friday February 4th, 2011, and the winner will be announced on Saturday February 5th, 2011. The winner will have thirty days to contact Lynn to claim the prize ([email protected])
    4. Barnes and Noble did not provide this prize, nor is Barnes and Noble involved in this contest in any way. It’s just one of Lynn’s favorite places, so we picked it as the prize. It’s all in good fun.
    5. If there is a tie. Names will be thrown in a hat and the winner drawn from that. *smile*
    ~~~

    Good luck, everyone. I’m excited to spend the week with you. Lynn speaks so highly of her blog followers!

    Have a great Sunday!
