Life and Whatnot

DID YOU SEE IT?

So, what did you think?

My husband and I went to see FIREPROOF Sunday afternoon. Now, I’m a writer (or at least learning to be one) and you’d think I’d have some fun, creative, fantastic way to describe how amazing this movie was. But I don’t, because I walked out of the movie puffy-eyed, awestruck, and convicted, which left me speechless.

Later in the evening, after I’d processed the movie a bit more, I remembered something else I’d experienced with my husband at the “Love and Respect” marriage conference. We, as women, like to hear “I love you” but men want to hear “I respect you.” Yes, respect.

This movie just brought that point home for me again. I’m I showing respect in my actions? My tone of voice? And even though he can’t read my thoughts, are my thoughts about him respectful? This movie was a great reminder of that concept

If you saw it, what did you think of the movie?

I thought it was great! As you know, I even blogged about it. It came in fourth at the box office this weekend, so I think we sent the message!

    Everyone should see this movie!

    Hi,

I just wanted to say thank you for visiting and leaving a comment on the NAMI walk. Would you like to chat more about your experience as a Mental Health Professional? I’m working on a non-fiction book now that I’d love to see what you’ve experienced in some of the arenas.

Also, I have a book to send you:-) Would you like a copy of The Case of the Bouncing Grandma? You just sounded like you would really enjoy it.

I have seen the trailers on TV and have seen interviews about the movie. Can’t wait to see it! As a marriage and family therapist I see these things in marriage all the time. It might be a good movie for struggling couples to see.
