I copy my writing onto http://editminion.com/ to help me highlight overused words, excessive adjectives, passive voice, etc. Perhaps it’s something you could use in the pre-editor stage?
P.S. Great article on Guide to Literary Agents! 🙂

HI, Jc. Glad you stopped by. Yep. I now have a list of my trigger words, too. SavvyAuthors.com has a site called AutoCrit…they do the word flagging as well. 🙂 I’ll check out editminion, too and see how that works. 🙂 Thanks for the tip!!
Thanks. That was a fun article to write. The Male POV is always intrigued me. 🙂

Lynn,
I couldn’t wait for the paper copy to arrive any longer. Bought the Kindle edition and I’m half way through Ch. 4 and already want to ‘terminate with extreme predjudice’ the character who has two (2) ‘G’s in his name.
Lynn Rush
Really? I’m wondering why it’s taking so long for your paper copy…you ordered from Amazon, right? Very strange….but I’m glad you’re enjoying the Kindle edition. Love that “terminate with extreme prejudice” …. that’s funny!
Lindsay
No, I preordered from the publisher.

Don’t you just love those pesky repetitive words. 🙂
Lynn Rush
Oh yeah. Love them like I love the fire of Hades….LOL. 🙂

LOL! Editing is so important! 😀

It’s funny how I can “edit” my stuff and STILL miss things. It’s so strange! Just too close to things, I guess.

W00t! I have a horrible habit of adding extraneous “that”s. 🙂 Lots of fun at my blog today!
Lynn Rush
OH yes. That is on my “list” of word searches before I send anything out! LOL!!!!! Thanks for having me on your blog, Brooklyn!

lol…flesh… you made me laugh (which is hard to do this morning with my son yelling at me…) I can think of all kinds of different ways to use the word, “flesh.” I hope they let you keep a few choice uses of it, lol…
And oh, how I wish I was near Elevated Coffee Co. It would be so very cool to meet you in person and get a signed hard copy! Have a blast with that!
Lynn Rush
Hi, Marne. Thanks. Yes, I did find a few ways to describe things without using FLESH….LOL I wish you were near, too, it’d be nice to meet you in person!
