Weddings are a blessed occassion, right? But they are not immune to hysterical mishaps.

Oh my goodness. They weren’t funny when they happend, but when you look back…..Seriously, why is watching people wipe out so funny? I know I’ve provided my fair share of laughing opportunities for others when I’ve “bit the dust.”

Let’s see, one was when I was in high school. I was with a friend. Anyway, we were in Express (clothing store) and they had a glass entryway.

Yeah, you can see where this is going, can’t you?

I thought I was walking through the door, but when my face abruptly met something very hard and very immovable, I fell back and landed on my bum.

I didn’t stick around to look, but my faceprint was probably smudged on the glass……UGH, how embarrassing.

Anything making you laugh lately?

The deck’s about four feet off the ground. The first fall was after a heavy rain. I had my hands full and was wearing brand new dressy shoes. (aka slicker than snot on the bottoms) And the second fall was after an 8-inch snow. (which we NEVER have in Eastern NC!) And yes, you can laugh about the fireplace incident now. “Those who can laugh at themselves will never cease to be amused” Right? 🙂

Oh those are hilarious. I love the one with the two kids fighting and the back end of the bride’s dress gets ripped off. Like you said, it’s funny now but I’m sure she was mortified at the time. I could be in those home videos twice when I was a bridesmaid. For one of them I actually fainted during the ceremony and for the other one I fell down the stairs during the ceremony. Neither one of those marriages worked out, so I wouldn’t go inviting me to be a bridesmaid at your wedding any time too soon.

Sarah — OMG, how high is your deck, girl? I’m sorry you were hurt. OH man, and the fireplace. I’m sorry, but we can laugh about it now, right???? 🙂

    Lynn,

I have never run into a glass door. But, in the last 6 months, I have fallen off my back deck TWICE (hurt myself really bad once). And when I was a little tyke, I backed into the glass fireplace screen in front of our fireplace. There was a fire in the fireplace at the time and I couldn’t sit down for like two weeks!

LOL! I did the same thing at church. I was busy talking to a friend as I was walking out. I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going, and then next thing I knew BAM! I walked right into the door.

The worst part is there were a bunch of people walking out behind us. It was so embarrassing.

SO funny. I’m not sure why when people wipe out. Maybe I’m just thankful that there are a few people in the world who are less coordinated than I am.
