GOOD NEWS PT 2

So, I woke up in Beautiful Sedona, AZ Saturday morning ready to write.

BUT, I didn’t have an idea.

Yeah, so I thought my writer’s weekend would be spent editing existing manuscripts (I have six to chose from☺.) And we know there is always room for improvement, right?

I decided to go for a run in the Red Rocks, on Bell Rock Path. It’s a beautiful route, I’ve done it several times. Lots of hills and fantastic views.

I’d prayed on Friday during the day, and then again Saturday morning: “God, if there’s something you want me to write, let me know.”

And boy, did HE ANSWER!

I was jogging, actually, sucking dust up this killer hill, and an idea hit me like a 2 x 4 over the head.

So, I finished up my six-mile run, showered, and grabbed something to eat. THEN, I sat at my computer and started pounding out some words.

I stopped to eat dinner, to sleep a few hours, then started up the next morning and wrote straight until Sunday afternoon.

25,000 words later . . .

Oh man, if you can ever take a writers retreat, DO IT. NO TV to distract, no nothing. Just a fellow writer or two to keep you motivated and work through little bumps you hit while you’re writing…man, doesn’t get much better than that.

So, the writer’s weekend started out with a bang learning Light of Truth finaled in a contest and ended on a fantastic note of getting 25,000 words done on a new WIP (Work in Progress)

Kat–Lightning, that’s funny. 🙂 Yeah, I was up at the writers retreat with KM (gzusfreak) and I think she was a little surprised. So, now we have the “goal” each writers retreat we do…we’ll have to try and beat it each time. LOL. I’m up to nearly 54,000 now…so we’ll see where it goes. 🙂

    Holy Moley girl! 25,000 words?

I always thought lightning bolts from God weren’t a good thing, but now I stand corrected.

    Good job. Congrats.
