What This World Needs, by Casting Crowns.

My sweet hubby and I went to see Casting Crowns in concert last year. It was the “Alter to the Door” tour. We instantly fell in love with the group. Their powerful lyrics and equally as impressive voices knocked us right out of our socks. And my sweet hubby is a singer, so when HE says someone sings good, that means something.

Anyway, this song, What This World Needs really hit home for me. Especially these words:

What this world needs is not another one hit wonder with an axe to grind
Another two bit politician peddling lies
Another three ring circus society
What this world needs is not another sign waving super saint that’s better than you
Another ear pleasing candy man afraid of the truth
Another prophet in an Armani suit

So, what did you think? Did they hit it right on the mark, or what?? What songs are rockin’ your world lately?

Love, love, love Casting Crowns. (sound of applause and giddy hollering in background) … We’ve seen them a few times, most recently at LifeLight in Sioux Falls, SD. It’s a Christian music festival held over Labor Day weekend. We camp out there with our kids and a bunch of other families from northwest Iowa. Gotta love rockin’ the house with Jesus.

Thanks for stoppin’ by everyone. I love the suggestions. I’m checking them out on You Tube now. Slow Fade is one of my favs of Casting Crowns as well. Good stuff, indeed!!! Kat, I like what your elementary school teacher said. So true, so true.

YES AND AMEN! I LOVE CASTING CROWNS!!! (Yes, I was yelling in my enthusiasm!) Thank you for sharing this with us! They are such an annointed group! My personal fave. at this point is Slow Fade, but all of their music contains a powerful message that points to Jesus. Love it! Blessings, my friend!

Oh…Casting Crowns. A band after my own heart.

    Thanks for this!

About what your hubby said about singing: My elementary school music teacher used to tell us that singing was saying two prayers in one. (Obviously, I went to a private school.) I’ve always kept what she said close to my heart. 🙂

I’ve been more and more impressed with Casting Crowns lately and their lack of fear for telling it like it is. I especially like their song “While You Were Sleeping.”

Rich Mullins was the same way…one of my favorite singers.

I like Casting Crowns also. What a great band. My absolute fav though is David Crowder. His latest Cd is Remedy and the song Remedy is probably my fav on there.
A couple of lines from the song:

He is the one who can save us
He is the one who forgave us
He is the one who has come and he’s coming again
    He’s the remedy

Crowder has awesome words about God’s love. But there are a lot of great artists I really like. Chris Tomlin, Phil Wickham. The list could go on and on.
