Anne Rice vs Stephenie Meyer

Okay, so I know Anne Rice doesn’t write vampire stuff anymore. . .but still. I bet you can’t find many people who don’t associate her with vampire novels.
But, the question is….Whose vampires do you like better. . . Anne’s or Stephenie’s?

I’ve gotten so involved with the literary genius of Ann Rice that I have no interest in reading Stephenie Meyer. However, I can see why some poll- results are leaning toward the later; with a society that idolized Paris Hilton, gets their news from MTV and thinks travel is loading up the kids and heading to their local Walmart; I expect nothing less.

I was too late to vote, but I would’ve been for Anne Rice too!!! I credit her with reawakening my desire to write…
Try reading Tale of the Body Thief… Great read! Queen of the Damned was great too!

Anne Rice’s Interview With The Vampire is a classic…dark, sexy, mesmerizing…Loved Stephanie’s series but it can’t hold a candle to Rice!
Lynn Rush
Can’t hold a candle, huh? Okay, guys. I’m gonna try reading Interview again……..

Nothing that isn’t gay should sparkle in the sun.
Rice’s new stuff sucks, and doesn’t have any heart, her older stuff rocks out with her literary cock out. Meyers is just crap that i wouldn’t wipe my ass with.
Lynn Rush
I thought you’d chime in on this one, Danae. What, with your affection for sparkles. . . .

Anne of course. Who could compete with Lestat, the rock star??? But I have to say, my fav of hers was “THE WITCHING HOUR” It was SUCH a great book- very layered. her new stuff, I’m not fond of and have stopped reading her.
Lynn Rush
Lestat the rock star. Awesome! I’ve heard mixed reviews of her new stuff. I think her fan base changed for sure!

Since I’ve never read any work by Anne Rice and everything by Stephanie Meyer, I would have to vote for Stephanie.
Lynn Rush
I borrowed a friend’s copy of Interview…like ages ago…haven’t gotten into it yet, though. 🙁
Kat Heckenbach
Just to be difficult, I’m going to say, “The Lost Boys.” Hehe…..:D
Lynn Rush
LOL, Kat. There’s always one in the crowd… **wink**
Savannah Chase
Anne Rice all the way….
Lynn Rush
Who was your favorite vamp from Interview, Savannah?
Brooklyn Ann
Anne Rice all the way. Louis was my first crush.
Lynn Rush
So far, most people are voting for Anne….we’ll see what happens.

I’m a twilight fan. Anne is an incredible writer, but some of her books go way darker than I’m comfortable with. Stephanie’s books are lighter but there are still some super interesting aspects to her characters (Carlisle’s one my favorites!)
Lynn Rush
Pretty dark, huh? I started reading Interview…didn’t quite get into it. Carlisle? It’s hard for me to picture Peter Facinelli as a doctor after seeing him in Can’t Hardly Wait
Lori Lundquist
I’m a Twilight fan, so have to go with Stephanie. Hope your week is starting out great, Lynn! Miss ya!
Lynn Rush
Yeah. I’d have to vote for Twilight on this one. For now. I haven’t been able to get into Rice’s stuff yet (older stuff or newer)—so, I’m a one-sided vote. LOL
Ciara Knight
I’m an Anne Rice fan. I grew up with her books, so love them.
Lynn Rush
Surprisingly, I haven’t read her stuff yet. I tried, just couldn’t get into it. LOL
