Stay and fight
****
It’s easier to run away when things get tough. It’s easier to avoid the object of your frustration or fear.
But what’s the cost?
I believe the cost of not looking at and addressing fears, hurts, and frustrations can lead to a host of issues. Both physical and mental.
If I’m feeling hurt or frustrated by someone, my tendency is to withdrawal. Avoid them. Because when I do see them I go right to the hurt or frustration and that doesn’t feel good at all.
But if I keep doing that, I get more negative and agitated in other areas of my life. I get short-tempered and negative in general.
And that’s not me. I don’t like how that makes me feel all heavy and sluggish.
But when I stay and fight through the frustrations and hurt, deal with them, life feels lighter.
I feel lighter.
It’s not easy, though. Talking with someone about hurts and frustrations is scary. Sometimes very uncomfortable. But it’s worth it. The relationship will get stronger. You’ll get stronger. And the person you’re dealing with might get stronger, too.
Stay and fight for the things and the people you love!
