    I LOVE waiting for . . . .

Okay, I couldn’t even finish that. I just had to try and type it to see if I could MAKE it be true. . . .

Truth is, I don’t LOVE waiting for anything. Especially if it’s something that could change my life (i.e. publishing contracts, contest results, whatever. . . )

I’m getting better at it, especially when I stay focused on writing new stories and lean on my friends. But it’s still hard.

So, when my writing buddy, Christian Miles, shared this Fireflight song with me, I had to put it up here on Musical Monday. It’s a great video and the lyrics really touch home.

My faves are: When you’re fighting to believe in a love you can’t see just know there is a purpose for those who wait.

The video gives me chills every time I watch it. AND, the song has been stuck on repeat on my iPod. . . The song is titled, For Those Who Wait.Hope you enjoy

  • MUSICAL MONDAYS

There Will Be A Day, Jeremy Camp.

jeremy_07I know, I’ve spotlighted Jeremy Camp before…a few times. But I saw him in concert March 27th, and I just had to share another song of his with you.

He’s got such a great story, and his music reflects that.

He went through a lot with his first wife (who died of cancer.) He had many reasons to turn from faith or get stuck in his anger, but instead, he turned to God.

    He’s so inspiring.

These lyrics are the best (In my opinion):

I know the journey seems so long
You feel your walking on your own
But there has never been a step
Where you’ve walked out all alone

***It just brings home for me that we NEVER walk alone. EVER! God’s always by our side.***

  • MUSICAL MONDAYS–Shelby Daniels Week

superchickHi everyone. I’m Shelby Daniels. Yep, the one Lynn chronicles in her Light of Truth trilogy. She wrote three books about my whacked-out life. How cool is that?

I harped on her for, like, three weeks to let me host her blog. She finally relented and said I could have free reign this whole week.

    The whole week!

Oh yeah! This is gonna be fun.

Lynn said that she usually talks about Music on Mondays. Heck yeah! I’m way into music. So, I shuffled through my 2,000 songs on my i-pod and found one I think you’ll like.

Well, I hope you like it.

Stay tuned this week…it’s gonna be a fun one!

So, I’m totally into this song by Superchick. Now, Lynn said she’d already featured Superchick here before, but I had to show you this song anyway.

    Hero, by Superchick.

    ***

    These are my favorite lyrics:

No one talks to her, she feels so alone
She’s in too much pain to survive on her own
The hurt she can’t handle overflows to a knife
She writes on her arm, wants to give up her life
Each day she goes on is a day that she is brave,
Fighting the lie that giving up is the way,
Each moment of courage her own life she saves
When she throws out the pills a hero is made

Heroes are made when you make a choice; You could be a hero
Heroes do what’s right; You could be a hero
You might save a life; You could be a hero, You could join the fight
For what’s right for what’s right for what’s right

Now, before I “found the light” I totally struggled with wanting to kill myself. Heck, I even had the razors all picked out. Even thought of jumping off the bridge I used to get drunk at every night.

    **yeah, scary**

I think that’s why I love this song so much. Life is a choice. After God finally got through to my cold heart, I realized I could be a hero.

And no, not a hero just because I can see the future and heal people injuries – although that is wicked cool – but a hero through my actions.

    Through my choices.

    Hope you liked the song.

Be sure to come back tomorrow, I hear Tuesdays and Wednesdays are kind of a “free” days so I can write about whatever I want. I can’t believe Lynn said I could have the whole week….she doesn’t know what she’s getting into. **wink**
