• Absolutely Almost Human (The Bot Trials #1)

    It’s been a blast jumping into the fun-filled world of middle grade writing. I’m super excited to introduce Bot to you all.

    Here’s the blurb and a sneak peak into the first few lines of the story….

    [stextbox id=”download”]

    Eleven-year-old Robert “Bot” Trials comes to terms with becoming a cyborg-the very thing that has turned his friends and their families against him.

    His desperate need to prove he can be a normal human boy pairs him with an unlikely friend: the mysterious girl who just moved into the Haunted House on the Hill. The bullies, haters, and frightening urban legends won’t stand in their way of finding a talking dog that showed up the same time mystery girl did.

    With his wacky new friend and his long time best friend at his side, they set out on an adventure that leads them into a world of secret societies and technology warfare. Everything spirals out of control when deadly family secrets are exposed.

    Secrets that could kill them all.

    ~~~~~~~
    THE DAY I DIDN’T DIE
    Lightning flashed, and the entire, beaten-down house on the hill was visible in the blast of yellow. The shattered windows on the main floor morphed into dark mouths with jagged glass teeth. Ones that could chomp anything to shreds.
    Thunder clapped. My tree house roof rattled. I stepped away from the telescope and held my breath to listen.
    Wind howled, moaning through the gaps in the walls of my little hideaway. Branches scraped along the wooden roof.
    Like a monster clawing its way in.
    A monster sent by The House.
  • TITLE HELP NEEDED
    TITLE HELP NEEDED
    Hey, gang. I have a middle grade story that needs a title. I’ve been calling it “A Pirate’s Grace” but just doesn’t fit. I’ve got the working blurb below so let’s see if you guys have any ideas for me.
    Book Blurb:
    Once an orphaned stowaway aboard a mighty pirate ship, Raider was accepted and adopted into their crooked family. Growing up surrounded by the self-serving ways of the sea, he knows little of honor-until he rescues a human girl from drowning.
    While engrossed in a fantastical tale spun of magic and pirates, eleven-year-old Grace somehow ends up in the middle of the ocean. When it becomes clear that she’s been transported into the pages of the book she was reading, and that she’ll need to locate a very special pendant to return home, she turns to the boy who saved her life.
    Raider agrees to join her quest, but with the wicked pirates, mystical creatures and a perilous ocean in their way, the chances of her returning home are fading.
    Any thoughts? Feel free to share them in the comments. Who knows, I may just pick yours!
    Sincerely,
    LynnTransparent
  • And her name is…
    And Her Name Is LunaThank you to everyone who helped name this cute Beanie Boo that represents a little owl in my newest Middle Grade project. And a big thanks to ANDI RODGERS MCDONALD for suggesting it. I think it’s perfect and the heroine of the story, Grace, would for sure pick that name so it’s GREAT!
    You guys are rock stars. Thanks for sharing this crazy writing journey with me!
    Sincerely,
  • The Battle of Five Armies
    Normally this isn’t my genre, and I never considered even going to the movies until a dear friend of mine, and professed Hobbit nerd, asked me. She suggested we marathon the first two and then go to the premier of the third.
    At first I was reluctant, because, that’s like a billion hours of hobbits and such…but then I thought, “Hey, I get to hang out with her, so it’ll be fun.”
    photoWe gathered the DVDs of the first two, snacks, and some yummy drinks, then settled in for the marathon. Holy long movies, but they were good.
    We had to makea quick stop at Starbucks for some much needed caffeine, and look what I found –>
    A PERFECT gift for the movie-goer, huh?
    The third movie…WHEW. Talk about battles. Holy how.
    While it was all a little battle focused for me, I enjoyed the story and the characters. The special effects were amazing and so was the music.
    Have you seen all The Hobbit movies? What’d you think?
