Dark Side…
My characters are known for having dark sides. I mean, David was a half-demon!
So, the music on my Novel Playlists is often dark. Hard. Gritty. Sure, I try and mix in some nice songs, too, for the right moment, but I really like that edgy music.
Violet Midnight is slated to release October 15th, 2012. It’s book one of my Violet Night Trilogy. And that means I’m looking for music for my playlists.
I stumbled across this one, by Kelly Clarkson.
Dang that girl can sing!! Loved these lyrics.
Edits are humming along, and I’m super excited to introduce these characters to you. Emma Martin, the main character, is itching to take over the blog for a while since Russell and David have been getting all the attention.
It hasbeen a while she since’s hijacked the blog, so she might make an appearance again soon. I think she’s planning some fun little events…

Musical Monday
I’m always on the lookout for new songs to add to my iTunes library. I mean, music and writing go hand in hand for me. For each novel I write, I make a note of the songs that were playing on my headphones while pounding out the words.
Same with biking.
I can get through a three hour bike ride with just the right songs.There’s just something about music . . .
Anyway…I’ve always been a Kelly Clarkson fan since when she won American Idol all those years ago.
So, when I heard this song on the radio, I had to get itShe’s got such a great voice.

Musical Monday
Emma Martin here. I convinced Lynn to let me host the blog this week, and it’s going to be so great!
Some might be wondering why I wanted to host the blog this week so badly. Well, two reasons. One, she’s never let me host it before! And second, Lynn signed a contract with Hearts on Fire Press to publish my story. Yep, Violet Midnight is going to be published.
What better way to celebrate than to have me, the main character, host, right?
So, I hear Monday is all about music. That’s cool with me, because I’ve got the BEST song.

I know what you’re thinking–well, I don’t actually have that power–but if I get a good look into your eyes, I could make you believe it’s your favorite song. You know?
But anyway, you’re probably thinking, “Jeez, enough American Idol?” You’re getting overdosed on that right now with the start of a new season, but hey, the song fits me so I have to go with it. And Kelly Clarkson still rocks! That girl can sing.
