    DraculaFacing threats to his kingdom and his family, Vlad Tepes makes a deal with dangerous supernatural forces – whilst trying to avoid succumbing to the darkness himself.

    I was so excited to see this and I worried I was getting my hopes up way too high.

    I didn’t.

    It met them–no problem.

    I often measure how much I like a movie by whether I think I’ll buy it when it comes out on DVD/iTunes. Well, this one…I’m probably going to find a reason to go back to the theatre to watch it again.

    No joke.

    I see quite a few bad reviews, and like everything that is subjective out there, that’s pretty normal. I didn’t know the history of Vlad or the Turk wars or anything like that, so maybe that plays a part in why I love it so much.

    Dracula Untold BatsWhat I do know…I loved the struggle Vlad went through. The character who played him did so well. I felt the pain and fear. AND the bravery to look at something so dark to try and save what he believes in.

    And his upbringing…the demons he struggled with and overcame. I just love it. And speaking of love, because yes, I’m a romance author, I loved the love story.

    It wasn’t so in your face that I had to cover my eyes. It was tender and I caught myself sighing a few times it was so heartfelt and sweet.

    I sure hope there’s a second movie….

    So yeah, I gavethis a 9/10 in IMDB for sure.

    What’d you guys think?

  • Top Ten Movie Blogfest

    TOPTENMOVIEAlex is hosting a fun TOP TEN MOVIE countdown blogfest. When I saw it was movies, I had to jump in. I’m all about the movies.

    ~~~~~
    I love movies and for the entire month of February I think I watched about 3-5 per day. No, I’m not crazy or anything, I was just recovery from a big surgery, so I had a lot of down time. Yet I was just too doped up on pain meds to concentrate much to read books. So, movies were the stand in.
    And…I had a few “GO TO” movies to help pass the time. Ever notice how some of the movies you love change in ranking depending on the circumstances? Must be my mood or something–LOL. For now, here are my top ten:
    Number TEN:
    The Matrix. Specifically that mega fight scene when they go to save Morpheus. I mean, look at TRINITY kick some butt. Oh, and Neo, too!
    Number NINE:
    Footloose (The 1980’s version!)
    Number EIGHT:
    Twilight Saga–yes. Don’t judge me! 🙂 I love the last two movies the best–Breaking Dawn Pt 1 and Pt 2!
    Number SEVEN:
    Avengers. I think they did HULK very well in this movie. Don’t you?
    Number SIX:
    Terminator (#s 2 and Salvation)–Sarah Connor was WICKED in the second movie. Tough–but soooo broken!
  • Scary Movies…
    It’s the weekend before Halloween!!! Are you one to celebrate the spooky night? Do the trick-or-treat candy thing?
    How ’bout a scary movie marathon?
    I’d have to say that if I was going to have a scary movie marathon, I’d watch the Nightmare on Elm Street movies.
    Those just FREAK me out.
    But, I work on the weekends, so I’ll be busy at the bookstore…that’s okay, though, because I’m getting MUCH too wimpy for the scary movies **LOL**
    Whatever you do, don’t…fall…asleep!
