• This Writer’s Journey…Susanne Dietze

    Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour, alone, at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.

    I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!

    Susanne Dietze:

    I met Susanne at a writer’s conference back in May of 2010-I think I got the year right. Me and another writer friend from Arizona here drove out to California for a small writer’s conference and I met a special group of people there.

    Susanne was one of them. Such a sweet person. Encouraging and a very talented writer. You should check her blog out. What I remember most about her is her smile. It was so genuine. She could put anyone at ease with it.

    I’m so glad our paths crossed, Susanne.

  • I’m at Charlie’s Place….

    I’m gearing up for the Wasteland blog tour, which starts September 7th, with a warm up blog stop atSmart Girls Love SciFi. I did a little post about Hope.

    It’s kind of a theme of mine, considering I have Hope, Faith, and Love tattooed on my arm. And really, when I got to thinking about it, those themes pop up in most of my books. I’ve always been a die-hard, “There’s always hope!” with almost everything that’s happened to me in life.

    And my character, David, well, he faces some pretty big obstacles…didn’t always trust the Hope thing…

    So, I figured it’d be a fun thing to blog about.

    I’m giving away an autographed cover flat, too, so come on over and share a little bit about where your Hope comes from. You might win a prize!

  • Weekend Reading. . .

    A couple weeks ago, I entered a contest offered by @MeganRecords, editor at Kensington Publishing. The prize…a copy of the books she’s edited over the previous four years!

    I got my prize this week. Check it out:

    A box full of books! What a dream!

    HOLY COW! Look at all that reading I get to do! And my To Be Read list is already a mile long.

    I must resist diving right in, though, until I finish editing Portal to Aeon. Once that’s done,I can get lost in a few books.

    Thanks, Megan. This is a great prize!

    Happy Weekending, everyone!

  • A contest. . .

    Hello everyone. This is Trinity.

    I surprised Lynn when I told her I wanted to be on her blog this week. I think her exact words were, “But you repel technology, Trin.”

    That’s okay, I have my Jayden helping me.

    I’m sneaking in a Sunday post to tell you about a little contest I’m going to run on Lynn’s blog this coming week.

    The prize: $25.00 gift card to Barnes and Noble.

    I’ve been to one of those stores once. They are a little confining for my taste, but then again, I rather enjoy the wide open spaces so I can spread my wings and take to the skies.

    But I will save that for another post. Back to the contest.

    It’s easy to enter. All you have to do is leave comments . . .

    Starting tomorrow, there will be instructions at the end of each post on where you need to comment to be entered in the drawing. It will vary a bit each day, so be sure to read the entire post. I may even sneak in some opportunities for you to get extra entries.

    But you will have to stay tuned to find out.

    ~~~
    Let’s get all the rules out of the way now so I don’t have to keep posting them, okay?
    1. One entry per person unless otherwise stated in the post.
    2. Winner must reside in the US.
    3. All the entries will be tallied up on Friday February 4th, 2011, and the winner will be announced on Saturday February 5th, 2011. The winner will have thirty days to contact Lynn to claim the prize ([email protected])
    4. Barnes and Noble did not provide this prize, nor is Barnes and Noble involved in this contest in any way. It’s just one of Lynn’s favorite places, so we picked it as the prize. It’s all in good fun.
    5. If there is a tie. Names will be thrown in a hat and the winner drawn from that. *smile*
    ~~~

    Good luck, everyone. I’m excited to spend the week with you. Lynn speaks so highly of her blog followers!

    Have a great Sunday!

    Book Review & CONTEST

    ~~~
    Synopsis from Barnes and Noble:
    Senior year is over and Skylar Hoyt is ready to forgive and forget. Or at least forget. She wants a fresh start where people don’t know about her partying past or her younger sister and her baby. A place where she won’t run in to her ex-boyfriend every time she leaves the house. When she gets the chance to spend the summer in Hawaii with her grandparents, Skylar jumps at the chance to get out of town. But when her sister needs her, Skylar has to swallow her pride and come back home. Will she be strong enough to rise above the gossip and live the life God wants for her?
    My Review:
    This is the third and final book of the series, and I liked how Stephanie closed the series out. Again, she has great characters, except one-more on that later. Stephanie paints a very accurate picture, I think, of what happens in high school and just after. Worrying about what they should do for a living, figuring out where they fit in life, and of course, searching for true love.
    One character I didn’t like much was Justin. He was a new addition, and I didn’t like him. Just seemed too rough/harsh. There was some closure eventually that made me soften up a bit, but not much. He just didn’t seem real to me.
    But then again, I haven’t been a teenager-let alone a Christian teenager-in a zillion years, so maybe they really act like that. . . but I’m doubtful.
    Overall, I loved this series. Great writing. Her words just flow. I read each book in one or two sittings each. She had me laughing and crying a few times, and I love that about the novels I read. Now, I’m a paranormal romance reader by nature, so for me to read a YA–non-paranormal book–that says a lot!
    Way to go, Stephanie. Great job on this series. What do you have next for us??
    ON TO THE CONTEST!
    Okay, so, I have ALL THREE Books sitting here…And if you want ALL three, this is the contest for you!
    So, here are the “rules”
    –Contest is open until Midnight (Pacific time) Sunday October 24th, 2010. US residents only (sorry.)
    I’ll be back to THIS POST and put who the winner is on Monday the 25th, 2010, so stay tuned.
