THE TRIATHLON

Swim a mile, Bike 56 miles, Run 13 miles….that’s what it is. Some call it fun. Some call it challenging. I call it NUTS! Seriously. Now, I’m known to do some pretty crazy things on my inline skates and my road bike…..but…….there’s just something about the whole triathlon thing. They just seem so insane.

Sure, I’ll bike 60-70 miles any day. Or even jog a few miles. Swimming, yeah, not so much. BUT, to do them ALL in the SAME day and as fast as you can? UGH.

My sweet hubby, Charlie, did his first Half Iron Man on Sunday. I went and watched the entire event. It was a blast. Despite thinking all of the participants are crazy, I really enjoyed being aroud such dedicated athletes.

This is Charlie just after the swim leg. He’s getting his biking stuff on. BRRR. It was a chilly 60 some degrees as he waded out of the lake.

This is Charlie nearing the finish….It was nearing 92 degrees by the time he was done. Talk about HOT. The weather I mean. 🙂

It took him 5 hours and 31 minutes to do all three legs. I’m just thankful he finished safely and had a good time.

    Right there with you, Kat!

Especially the running. I can swim, and I wouldn’t mind biking, and I can even walk for forever. But I am not a runner.

And Lynn, it’s ok if you think your hubby is hot! 🙂

Congrats on completeing such a feat, Charlie!
