Life and Whatnot

THEN AND NOW THURSDAYS

Have you ever sat and reminisced about what was popular when you were a kid? Well…. “Then and Now” Thursdays is right up your alley.

Do you remember DURAN DURAN?

Oh my. . . Do I ever!

I had pictures up

on my bedroom walls like

any teenage girl back then.

They look pretty okay now, too!

You know what?

I hear they are still touring too.

That says a lot, doesn’t it?

Oh, remember this video?

Duran Duran . . .Hungry Like the Wolf . . . Good times, good time 🙂
Their lyrics inspired a couple of poems — Nice Throwback Thursday! I know it’s now and then thurs. but today it “threw me back” for a moment 🙂

Oh Lynn, now you’ve done it. You hit the nail on the head.

I could tell you a thing or two about my infatuation with this band that would embarrass the both of us. So, I won’t say anything. Maybe someday if we meet at a conference or something I’ll share. It’s just too embarrassing otherwise.

I STILL have my posters of the band. They’re rolled up with a rubber band and stuck in a box in my garage, but they are there nonetheless. I would buy magazines like BOP and Tiger Beat for the pinups. Yeah, and that’s not even the embarrassing part. 🙂

About three years?? ago, when all five members of the band reunited , my cousin and I drove all the way to Kansas City to see them at the Fox Theatre. I have to agree with Lisa, they were amazing.

That’s not the embarrassing part either. 🙂

Thanks for this post. I’m going to be smiling for the rest of the day now.

Do I remember Duran Duran? ABSOLUTELY! In fact, they have been my fave band for 25+ years now. Have you seen them live? I highly recommend it. They always play the “hits” blended with newer songs. :o)
