This Writer’s Journey . . .
~~~~
Writing is a journey, one I truly love and enjoy, but it can sometimes feel rather lonely. Hour after hour, alone, at the computer, pouring your heart and soul into each word. But I’ve learned I’m not alone, in fact, I’ve been blessed to be in contact with some amazing people, both writers and non-writers.
I want to share a bit of that with you. Each week I’ll be spotlighting someone I’ve come in contact with during my journey. Thanks for stepping along side of me-all of you-during this exciting time!
Way back during my time with ACFW, Becky and I connected in a critique group. She was among the first to read some of my stuff, so she had fun hacking it up. I say that in a loving way, though.
No joke.
Her grasp on the English language and the techniques of writing is stellar. I have learned so much from her. She’s funny, too. I mean, you have to be when critiquing, otherwise it’s just…well…brutal-for both receiving the critique or giving it!
I really appreciate all the time she put in reading my work and giving me honest and constructive feedback. I’ll never forget Becky.
I’m so glad God put her on my path to publication!
I love this tribute to your crit partner. Sadly, I have not found one that is a good fit as yet.
Crit partners are everything to me. A crit parnter with a sense of humor is priceless. Nothing like laughing as you get the bad news. 🙂
I agree with you, Lynn. Having a CP with a sense of humor is vital in this business. It would be crushing otherwise. I’m so glad you have someone like her in your life!
