Throwback Thursday

Okay, here’s a blast from the past. Well, maybe MY past. But if you were like any other young kid in the 80s hanging out at the arcade, I’m sure you remember……

DONKEY KONG!

~~~
So, how’s that for a throwback to 1981?
Yeah, I live in the past a little, don’t I? But man, wouldn’t it be sweet to have one of this machines at home? They look so cool.
The walls surrounding my pool table are filled with posters and pictures from various 80s movies such as Commando, The Outsiders, Footloose, Terminator. . . . I’m thinking this little Donkey Kong machine would fit in really well!
    LBDiamond. I haven’t seen that episode.
    Kat–we have an Atari here too. Bought it off Ebay years and years ago. I love dragging that thing out sometimes.
    Danica–Space Invaders is one of my favs as well.
    KM–Super Mario fan, huh? I never got into that one. I didn’t get into a lot of video games, but when I hit the arcade with the friends, I’d play them. I just totally suck at them. LOL.
    Lori–Galaga. Don’t know that one either. I’m so lame.
    Remember the phrase, “It’s on like Donkey Kong?” My friend, Lisa, mentioned that on Facebook. LOVE IT!
    GALAGA is my game. There’s a documentary film out there called “The King of Kong: A Fist Full of Quarters” about the point record holder for Donkey Kong. It was actually very interesting!
    Happy Thursday!
    This is a little before my time, but I definitely played Donkey Kong…only not on one of these things. I played on a game system. It was awesome! But nothing beats Super Mario IMHO.
    I have a working Atari system at home. Donkey Kong is one of my favorites. It’s the granddaddy of the Mario games. You can’t help but love it!
    I wasn’t a big Donkey Kong fan. Pac Man and Space Invaders were my games. Of course, that was when I could get my older sister to actually take me to the mall with her so I could go to the arcade. *sniff* Older sisters are SUCH a pain! LOL Great throwback!
