Throwback Thursdays

Ever get your tongue stuck to a cold pole?

The mere thought of it makes me cringe.

So, when this part shows up in A Christmas Story–I have to look away.

I’ve never done that, but oh my gosh – – –

I love the bunny outfit he gets.

His face just tells the

whole story! It’s hysterical.

~~~
Now, I’m not even a HUGE fan of this 1980’s classic. . . but even I have to admit, it’s funny.
Can’t forget, the all famous line, “You’ll shoot your eye out.”
~~~

So, have you seen it? What’d you think?

    Years ago when I was a little kid, I stuck my tongue to the inside of the freezer to see if it would stick and wouldn’t you know it did. I remember hollering in my tongue-stuck-lisp at my older sister ‘geah eee um ater!’ and she brought a cup of warm water and a lecture.

    Never did that again.

    I don’t think I have ever watched this show. . .
    A boy got his tongue stuck on a pole waiting for our schoolbus once – ug! It was so scary – I think I was pretty little/kindergarten.
    this looks funny 🙂

    Lorna, it’s okay you don’t like it. It’s nothing I really enjoy, but just happens to be on all the time on Christmas Day. I think TBS or someone does a 24-hour marathon of it. I’ve found myself laughing and also rolling my eyes. I’d MUCH rather watch ELF for 24 hours straight. LOL.

    Danica–LOL. Ice in a drink. That’s funny. I’m in Arizona, so I’m hearing you on that one.

    Ralene–Never seen it all the way through? Might be worth a watch. . . but you won’t be missing a ton if you don’t.

    Lori–I know you’d rather be watching ELF, huh? **winks** Write on, my friend.

    Never stuck my tongue to a pole.

    Sorry…odd one out here…but I HATE this movie. It annoys the daylights out of me.

    A few years ago, I tried watching it, but I thought it was stupid and shut it off. But everyone kept telling me how great it was, so the next year, I tried it again. Almost shut it off during the second viewing, but those voices rang in my head, “Oh, it’s great” and “You’ll love it!”, so I made myself sit through the whole thing.

    Didn’t laugh once.

    I guess it’s one of those movies that you either like or you don’t.

    I look forward to this movie every year. It isn’t just the ‘You’ll shoot your eye out, kid!’ that gets me. It’s the furnace, The Lamp, the smiling duck…it’s the best Christmas movie of all time as far as I’m concerned.

    Never stuck my tongue to anything cold. We don’t get ice down here often (Unless it’s in a drink), so when we do, we view it with suspicion, lol.

    I will admit I have never seen the movie all the way through. never. I’ve tried–but for some reason, never made it through. Sad, I know. I fail at life. lol…

    And no, I’ve never stuck my tongue on anything cold. My sisters, though, stuck their tongues on the metal bumper of my dad’s ’72 Charger. Baaaad…

    Happy throwback Thurs.!
    No, I’ve never stuck my tongue to a cold pole before. My dad is a physics teacher, he taught me a few things before it was too late! 🙂
    Seen the movie, not my absolute fave, but it’s grown on me and a few of the scenes/situations are indeed priceless.
    Have a wonderful day!
    Write on!
