THROWBACK THURSDAYS
Okay, Then and Now Thursday has undergone a makeover.
A couple weeks ago, my good friend and fellow writer, KM Wilsher, called it “Throwback Thursday” I thought, “Oh wow, I love that.” So, she let me steal it. She’s got a gift for coming up with sweet one liners–Oh, and brainstorming titles for my novels ☺
So, for our first entry in the newly named theme for Thursday…
Okay, so, how many ladies out there remember loading up their wrists with a zillion black jelly bracelets and heading out to the roller rink?
LOL. I’m raising my hand.
Waving it actually-oh, and laughing with the memory.
Anything to look like Madonna in the 80s right?

Oh yeah, Weronika, I remember the comeback of the jelly bracelets!
I’m sure you were too young to remember the ’80’s version π
I didn’t wear that many jelly bracelets in the 80’s I was into leather studded cuffs and chains. . .you know the rocker/goth/punk girl π
I did do the jelly shoes!
Yeah, Lynn, anything to look like Madonna, or was it Vince Neil?
— no matter they kinda looked the same LOL π
Some reporter back in the day called it the “alcoholic housewife look” hee hee
Love the 80’s and “Throwback Thursday” π

Their popularity returned in early 2000 and all the girls in middle school went ballistic. I can definitely remember them, I still have a few safely tucked away as a reminder.

You just sparked a memory of a Q&A article I once read in Bop Magazine. (Yeah, it was a loooong time ago.) They were talking to the lead singer of A-Ha, and he said one of his favorite accessories was black jelly bracelets.
Well, that did it. After that, everyone was wearing them. π
