Life and Whatnot

TIME OF REST

Rest? Who needs rest? It’s overrated….or is it?

This past weekend we stole away for a bit of R & R. Who’s been to Sedona, AZ? If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you already know it’s my favorite place to rejuvenate.

These views inspire creativity for me. I went up there struggling with plot issues in my latest work in progress (WIP). Taking time away to rest, to hang with family and to see this beauty…well, plot problems solved.

In addition to us needing some R&R, it was my dad’s and my sweet hubby’s birthday…so we celebrated together.

Cake time.
Cake time. Chocolate with chocolate...It almost felt like MY birthday. That's my favorite cake.

We had a blast playing boggle and goofin’ around on photo booth (stay tuned to Friday Funnies for that story…..) Oh, and of course, there were sports involved….We did a couple trail runs through the red rocks and watched a bunch of football (Yeah Cardinals!!).

All around, it was a great weekend, but here’s my question to you….Where do you go or what do you do to find rest and relaxation?

What a beautiful place. It’s been a long time since I’ve been through Arizona and we didn’t get to stay long.
Where do I go to relax? Hm–am not sure I actually have a getaway place. Lots of times though I end up in the car parked somewhere reading a book and drinking a thermos of hot tea. No one knows where I am and no one can find me. If I don’t want to answer the cell phone, I don’t. Plus, I can people watch.

Happy birthday to the family. I love to go to the mountains to rejuvinate. I have never been to Sedona but I hear it’s beautiful.
I’m glad you had a great weekend.

Sedona is beautiful! Though I preferred it when it was not the New Age capital that it has become (I’m from PHX so remember Sedona from back when). I’m glad that you had such a good time up there visiting w/ your folks and celebrating birthdays to boot!

R & R? My absolute fave is going to the movies all by myself, having a soda and large buttered popcorn with smuggled in M&M’s dumped in! Ah, that is really my thing. But alas, it hasn’t happened since baby came… One day though, I’ll get to it again!
