What’s your Fav? –John Hughes Week
~~~
I had to dedicate a week of my blog to him since the popular director John Hughes died last Thursday.
He was known for movies in the 80s and 90s such as: National Lampoon’s Vacation; Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; Weird Science; The Breakfast Club; Some Kind of Wonderful; Sixteen Candles; Pretty in Pink; Planes, Trains and Automobiles; Uncle Buck; Home Alone and its sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Yeah, I didn’t love all the movies he was involved with, but there were a few that I’d call my favorites. Sixteen Candles, which ironically, I’d blogged about the day he died, is my all time fav. But Pretty in Pink, Some Kind of Wonderful, and Weird Science are pretty high up on the list as well.
And of course, we can’t forget Ferris, right? Twist and Shout scene from Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.
Goodbye John Hughes, thanks for the memories.
Despite not being born when a lot of his movies came out, I’ve seen a lot of them. I’d have to say my favorite is National Lampoon’s Vacation. I laugh hysterically every time I watch it; my favorite part is definitely when the grandma dies and they have to tie her to the roof! LOL!!
LR, I loved Uncle Buck and the Breakfast Club. What a sad thing to lose him. Great post!
I always liked Some Kind of Wonderful, but then again I was a huge fan of Leah Thompson back in the day. I always thought she was just absolutely gorgeous. 🙂 I didn’t realize that was a John Hughes film.
Again, I’m learning something new.
